1. Information We Collect
To make the app work, we collect:
- Identity: Your phone number (+254) for login and OTP verification.
- Business Data: Name of your business, currency, inventory items, sales records, and expenses.
- Staff Data: Phone numbers and display names of workers you invite.
- Customer Data: Names and phone numbers of customers you choose to tag in sales or "Deni" (debt) records.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Synchronization: To ensure your data is available on all your devices (Owner and Staff).
- Analytics: To generate your Profit & Loss reports and staff performance rankings.
- Communication: To send you critical system alerts or support updates.
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your business data. We only share it with trusted service providers necessary to run the app:
- Supabase: For secure cloud database storage and real-time syncing.
- RevenueCat: For managing your subscriptions and payments.
- Google Cloud: For hosting our services.
4. Data Security
- Local Storage: Your data is stored locally on your device (Sembast) for offline access.
- Cloud Encryption: Data synced to the cloud is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Role Access: Workers can only see the data you permit (e.g., they cannot see your total net profit or other workers' commissions).
5. Your Rights
- Access: You can view all your business data within the app.
- Export: You can export your sales and expenses to CSV at any time.
- Deletion: You can request to delete your account and all associated business data. Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered.
6. Compliance
BizYangu aims to comply with the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019). We treat your business information with the highest level of confidentiality.
